    The New Deal is what turned America into a middle-class nation where even cashiers could afford a decent standard of living. FDR wasn’t the only new dealer, it continued well into Johnson’s administration. If FDR had survived his New Bill of Rights (an economic Bill of Rights) would likely have been passed given how overwhelmingly popular he was. Sadly he died early in his fourth term and while Truman won reelection, Dewey, his republican opponent, screwed him over in that regard.
