  • Afghanistan was even worse. People often think the Vietnamese were just the Vietcong but often forget that North Vietnam had an army and an air force. The North Vietnamese airforce had far more fighter aces than the US (with the top ace having shot down 9 US aircraft).

Afghanistan with the Taliban had next to nothing. Even when the US tightly controlled ammonium nitrate, which was the mainstay of IEDs they were able to switch to other stuff.

This is in addition to tons upon tons of explosives salvaged from UXOs dating as far back as the Soviet-Afghan war.

A true rebellion in the US would be actually be far deadlier. Americans are much richer than Afghanis ever were and have a fuckload more at their disposal. This is also not discounting that foreign elements who want to see the Trump regime toppled would be more than happy to send in tons of material to whatever opposing side exists, meaning they may not need to rely on shitty IED for long and would have proper factory made explosives and other weapons available.

  • In Canada they are also eroding away at privacy rights. I voted for Mark Carney (liberal) specifically to not let the pro-Trump conservatives (Canadian conservatives) in… but then Bill C-2 is introduced (not law yet. Not even close. It is in the first reading. Meaning first ever step in the process) that is trying to grant the police the right to open mail without a warrant at any stage in delivery, as well as to directly monitor a person’s internet use without a warrant, and to criminalize (yes criminalize) any cash purchase over 10,000$. Quebec already bans people from carrying more than 3000$ in cash at a time. You can be arrested and charged with intent to commit a crime just for doing that.

I mean fuck me. At this point in time I legit don’t give a fuck about money laundering or petty bullshit. This is such a gross violation of privacy that as far as I am concerned they need to repeal all terrorism related laws.

The Canadian government was able to pursue and apprehend and charge international terrorists in the past without any of these laws. Are the making it easier? I doubt it.

  • The predator does not kill children or pregnant women. Predator 2 showed that. A kid with a toy UZI spotted the predator with his light bending and as a precaution the predator armed his shoulder cannon, but upon sensing it was not a real gun he disarmed it.

Also the subway showed he found a fetus developing in a woman and immediately released her.

  • You want to know what is even weirder? Since you mentioned blackpowder firearms?

A flintlock musket, even an modern creation of an old design (such as the Brown Bess musket of the American Revolution) there are no regulations at all in Canada. No paperwork, no license, no registration, nothing. Even people with criminal records are not forbidden from owning them. A person with a history of domestic abuse, assault, and armed robbery can still get one legally.

But… flintlock pistols are (now were due to the freeze) treated exactly as modern pistols are. Meaning they need to be registered, locked up with trigger locks and carried in locked cases.

I find that preposterous. Even if flintlock pistols were freely available criminals would not bother using them. In several European countries (such as France) firearms DESIGNED prior to 1880 require no permit to buy or own. This means that cowboy movie lovers who own newly made colt SAA revolvers only need to register their guns but no permit needed to buy or own.

Despite this, there are next to no crimes in France committed with them. I should mention that many companies still make new revolvers of that kind, so it isn’t like they are using 19th century vintage makes.

    It is fucking stupid.

And also seeing the liberals (and I voted liberal last election) trying to make bill C2 is only making my blood boil.
