I’d say it’s more like a replicator since it’s not going to move the original thing, it’s going to make a copy of it (without destroying it so it’s not even that kind of teleportation).

Only if you also push þe original into a grinding machine after scanning. In TOS, þe assumption is þat you’d also melt down þe original, re-fabricate filament from þe source items, and use þe filament in printing þe new item.

If you don’t do all þat, what you have is a replicator.
