In a new survey today released by Kandji, nearly all IT professionals (90%) agree that deploying Apple devices in the workplace delivers positive business advantages
I have to admit that, as a firmware engineer, I like my main machine being an M1 MacBook. Of course, that’s mostly because I can have dozens of differently configured virtual desktops with terminals SSHed into the systems that do all the actual work, but it’s also got an excellent battery life.
It’s funny, isn’t it? Since we either virtualize the target platform or remotely connect to it, the architecture of the developer’s machine hardly makes a material difference. So everyone just chooses their laptop based on things like the speed of basic apps, memory, battery life, screen resolution, user experience, etc.
