LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — A Lakeland woman was charged Tuesday after police said she ended a call to an insurance company with the words, “Delay, Deny, Depose.”
In an arrest affidavit, the Lakeland Police Department said officers were contacted by the FBI on Tuesday, Dec. 10 regarding an alleged threat made over the phone.
Briana Boston, 42, had reportedly placed a call to BlueCross BlueShield regarding recent medical insurance claims she was denied. The entire phone call was recorded, according to the affidavit.
Near the end of the call, investigators said Boston could be heard stating, “Delay, Deny, Depose. You people are next.” The first three words are similar to those written on the ammunition that a gunman used in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City last week.
The affidavit noted the similarities between the incidents, stating that those words have become nationally recognized as a phrase “directed against insurance companies.”
Police made contact with Boston at her home in Lakeland, where she reportedly admitted to using those words during the call, telling detectives that “healthcare companies played games and deserved karma from the world because they are evil.”
Boston reportedly told detectives she used the phrase “because it’s what is in the news right now,” and that she had learned of the phrase due to the UnitedHealthcare homicide.
However, Boston added that she does not own any firearms and “was not a danger to anyone,” police said.
Based on Boston’s statements, investigators said they believed she meant to threaten the insurance company “by using the UnitedHealthcare CEO’s homicide to her advantage.”
Boston was charged with threats to conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism, according to the affidavit.
A judge set her bond at $100,000, stating, “I do find that the bond of $100,000 is appropriate considering the status of our country at this point.”

And remind me again, that was based off of the insurance company’s own motto of “delay, deny, dispose”? After all we’re just a disposable product to them, right?

It’s “delay, deny, defend.” I don’t think it’s any insurance company’s motto. That’d be pretty fucking brazen if it was! The impression I got was that it was used by opponents of insurance companies to describe their practices. (See book with that title.)
The gunman replaced “defend” with “depose” for obvious reasons.
I actually read something this week stating this the gunman’s words were based on some actual thing the insurance companies use. Of course it wouldn’t be any official motto, but behind the scenes we’re all pretty aware that we’re nothing but numbers to these companies.
That’s the point they can behave like that but we can’t call them on it.
So the assassin killed a single individual, so how did she threaten a mass shooting? Furthermore, the FBI might want to go review some of Trump’s & his nominees statements.
Things I don’t think this woman said.

- I will have a plan to murder you.
She’s right. The public will criticize them next & she expressed her opinion. But first now we must turn our attention to the FBI for violating her free speech & lawfare against this lady, soon to be headed up by Kash Patel who said he’d go after those critical of Trump despite having committed no crimes.
The US government abusing power? Never heard of this before? I hope they don’t start a war over this abuse of power either!
The way it works:
Steal from your employer & have the police come arrest you or watch the FBI launch an investigation.
Have your employer steal from you & have to pay to go after them in court. The government at most will make them pay a small fine, but more than likely you’ll be required to arbitrate in confidentiality.

The judge basically admitted that he’s trying to make an example out of her.
Yeah based on the judge’s comments, I don’t see how they lose this in appeals
Headline is from the news article, I am assuming we call agree that is not a credible threat.
Instead of “Murderer catch phrase”, this is actually the title of a book calling the insurance industry assholes. After being denied coverage, it is a completely appropriate insult to their “book described” process.
So what we all need to do is call the insurance companies and say those three little words they find so easy to say. Triple D!
Don’t think this unless you really know what you are doing and willing to suffer for it.
