Man, I really just cant be bothered to give a shit about any trailer that doesnt have game play, which is about all of them
It’s crazy how they came out ahead of this bragging about how all of their trailers would be either gameplay or in-game, and it’s all just cinematic shit anyways.
When they announced that I had a feeling they meant mostly in-engine cinematics. Looks like that’s exactly what we got
Yeah I felt a little cheated, but my disappointment with Xbox at this point can’t go any lower. Still, South by Midnight and Clockwork Revolution definitely got my attention, and I’m obviously excited for Starfield. There are rumors that more Xbox game announcements are still coming, including a new Gears, so we’ll see.
I agree as well. With Star Wars Outlaws, I was disappointed with how vague the trailer was regarding gameplay… but looks like they’re revealing gameplay tomorrow, so looking forward to that!
Agreed. Can’t tell how far are these games
CITIES SKYLINES 2
Rumors have it that Avowed will show up in the Xbox conference. I’m really excited to finally see some gameplay for it after a looong time of radio silence.
Whew, Avowed’s been announced three years ago, huh. I honestly forgot about the game. I could see them showign some new gameplay. 👀I’ve heard of other leaked stuff (in spoilers):
spoiler
Cybepunk’s DLC being preorderable, with a 30$/€ price tag
spoiler
Persona 3 Re-Loaded, similar to how Xbox had marketing exclusivity with the 5 and 3 ports on multi-plat
I heard rumours Fable would also show up, surprising many considering the rumoured troubled development.
I’m with you. After being teased that long ago, my body is ready!
I’m really looked forward to Hellbade II, even though I never finished the original one (was NOT a fan of the combat bits, it felt like someone pausing a movie and refusing to unpause it until I did button mashing sequence). The atmosphere/vibes of the walking parts are so cool though.
Jussant(sp?) Looked cool as hell
Definitely looks interesting. Want to see more.
This is a much better Xbox event! They have in game or in engine footage to show for a lot of games being shown. No release dates for a lot of them is a bummer but there’s an improvement. Phantom liberty looked rad! I don’t have a good gaming laptop, wish had a pc for starfield
Interesting title for the inxile game, Clockwork revolution
I’m obviously really looking forward to seeing more on Starfield, but here are some other titles I’m hoping to hear about:
- Fable
- Avowed
- Perfect Dark
- Hellblade 2
- Contraband
15 minute gameplay trailer of Fable would make my month. I’m hoping this will be great
Yeah I think we may be a little too optimistic with Fable - it may still be too early. But we can still dream.
Wohoo! Direct thread is here! Let the hype begin! Even as PS user, I love Bethesda games. Have been hearing about Avowed a lot lately. I can always play these games on PC/laptop.
I’m honestly glad both Sony and Microsoft keep pushing PC ports to Steam. My Deck’s taking advantage of that.
Tbh it’s only been a year or so under Xbox, anyone can love any game anyway :p
Thanks for this! Was thinking of making a thread for this. So excited!!!
You’re welcome! I was a bit surprised there was no thread yet at Beehaw.
Hoping for an announcement of Psychonauts 3. Also it would be cool to see some kind of confirmation of Halo project Tatanka, although I think that’s unlikely.
Also I’m guessing there will probably be a surprise Game Pass shadow drop, so that will be cool.
Hopefully an announcement of a global rollout of Game Pass Friends and Family too. 👀
That would be cool. I know a lot of people have been eagerly awaiting this.
@TopHat Phil Spencer wearing a :hexen2: Hexen shirt made me go yoooo
Thanks! I’m so excited for the Starfield portion!
Come on Gears remaster
This is where MS has a chance to really make a splash and show what all of the developers they have been acquiring are working on. I hope it’s successful, my Xbox has turned into a Rock Band 4 machine.
I used to be optimistic for Microsoft since Phil Spencer got the Game Pass ball rolling, but I’m doubtful we’ll see a lot of concrete games. Especially with his recent speech that “even with games we won’t sell more Xboxes than PlayStations” (not that I care about the “console war”, but that’s definitely not a confident man speaking). If it’s a splash, it would’ve been bigger if the CMA and the FTC didn’t start stopping Microsoft from acquiring Activision-Blizzard-King.
I’m still rooting for them, though! Sony got some banger games, Nintendo’s “set for the year” with TOTK and their other smaller games, now it’s Xbox’ turn to swing.
Edit: My biggest hope currently is them finally announcing rolling out Game Pass Friends and Family globally very soon. That’s my “day one” purchase with 4 friends for sure. Would love to stream those games to my Deck.
“even with games we won’t sell more Xboxes than PlayStations” (not that I care about the “console war”, but that’s definitely not a confident man speaking)
I don’t think that speaks to confidence in general, I think it speaks to accepting the reality of where they are with regards to hardware sales.
I am hoping this will be a good showcase for them. Regardless, I appreciate that they are allegedly taking the “no CGI trailers” approach.
I think it speaks to accepting the reality of where they are with regards to hardware sales. Agreed, but I wouldn’t say the Xbox situation is as hopeless as he paints it out to be if they got XGS games to show for it. Especially with Sony’s exclusivity deals (which luckily are far less than before, looking at Street Fighter 6 for example). Phil’s philosophy of getting games on any platform (despite starting to Xbox/PC lock Bethesda games) definitely shows with third party developers nowadays.
Sony set the bar low this time around, so I think it’ll be good. Last showcase with the Hi-Fi Rush shadow drop was a good format for them - quick, content-filled. If they stick with that type of format, I’m a happy guy.
