So far, I’m liking it. I rinsed it out before using, and there was trace amounts of blue ink already in the pen. Mysterious.

I filled it with Noodler’s Heart of Darkness, and it writes very smoothly. Left it sitting overnight, and it continued writing smoothly this morning with no hiccups whatsoever. Very nice! It’s supposed to be a “fine,” but it really seems like more of a “medium” to me. It comes with a piston filling cartridge converter which didn’t seem removable at first, but it just slides out if you pull on it a little.

I got it from AliExpress, if you’re wondering. It will surely be available on eBay soon enough.

They’re pretty rad if they fit your use case. For me, they definitely do.

FWIW, I (not OP) have a Majohn A2 Press, and both that and this are mechanical clones of the Pilot Vanishing Point. I also have a (much older) genuine Vanishing Point, an Oaso K016 (which is kind of pants, honestly), and a Platinum Curidas. I have written here at great length about all but one of those already.

Obviously I have a… thing… for retractable fountain pens.

Send me one and I’ll let you know! Just kidding. I haven’t heard of Moonman. Do know know where they’re sold?

Oh I think I mixed up the names. It’s Majohn/Moonman. There was some legal reason they had to rebrand a few years ago but you can sometimes still get pens with the old branding. They are on Aliexpress as well at around the $20 price point.

I bought a majohn A1 and it came branded moonman, so could be the same product?

@vext01 @mongooseofrevenge both brands are big on making cheap garbage knockoffs of other pens including each others but particularly reputable and recognisable brands even still ive never used any of those brands pens that i found usable at all even at the price they are ok as prety things but totally useless as writing tools others disagree

I have to disagree. The A1 is pretty decent, even if it is a clone.

I have one of these. It’s firmly become my “work pen” for taking quick ad-hoc notes. Amazing quality for the price.

Edit: I have a majohn a1 and OP posted a different pen! Looks almost identical.

It is surprisingly nice. You’re the second person to compare it to a Majohn. So, I ordered one of those too! In a different color and nib size, of course.
