Spurred on by this post in 196, I decided to finally create the fedi version of this community.
The community’s about instances of queer erasure by academics and others, mostly humorous in tone.

Narcissus was put to the death for not sexing anyone. One of his spurned suitors prayed to Nemesis that he should love what he cannot have. Nemesis made him fall in love with his reflection and die.
The egotism isn’t a character trait, it’s a curse. Narcissus’ only character traits are being aroace, liking to spend time alone in the woods hunting, and being rude AF to strangers who try to rizz a 16 year old boy. Ace icon 🏳️🌈
Why not just put it all in one? Do we really need a community for each specific form of queer erasure?

Abides by that specific community’s rules. However, I feel “They Were Roommates” would work better for the name of a community for general humorous instances of queer erasure, as “Sappho and Her Friend” makes me expect it’s either lesbian-only or woman-only.
The original reddit sub wasn’t wlw specific either, but I can change the display name to “They Were Roommates” if people want.
I also figured it might have been something like that but I didn’t follow the Reddit sub. (Also, it is your community, you can do what you want, but we don’t have to be a 1:1 copy of them if we do not want to be!)
