To the reader,

I hope this message brings you some comfort and perspective.

Every living being—every single organism that has ever existed or will exist—is navigating life without a clear path or destination. There is no definitive right or wrong way to live; life is simply about surviving and finding meaning in our own ways.

Some individuals pursue power, wealth, and prestige, believing these things will bring fulfillment. However, in the vast expanse of the universe, such achievements are ultimately insignificant. When the universe meets its end, all our deeds and accomplishments will fade into oblivion.

So, please, try not to worry too much.

If you haven’t yet, consider the impact of bringing new life into the world. Understand that any new life will face the same challenges, confusion, and suffering that we all do. Instead, if possible, focus on uplifting those who are already here—those who are struggling, unwanted, and unloved. Helping others leads to a better life for everyone.

If you find yourself unable to help right now, that’s okay. Relax. Take a breath. Appreciate what you have, and live in the present. Take things moment by moment, step by step, and you’ll find your way.

Warm regards,

A fellow traveller

P.S. Pass on this message if it resonates with you.

That we don’t have a clear path in life just like other animals. I’m not seeing what’s wrong with this post.

If it was written like you did, it would fit the format. This is just a wholesome post, which we already have multiple communities for.

Love this! I am going to print this up, frame it, and put it in my kids’ rooms so they can have a daily reminder. Thanks OP!

PS. You shouldn’t take such long showers. It wastes water. 😉

Life is meaningless, there is no purpose, we are all just making it up!

Enjoy it, help other people enjoy it too and live your life!

I liked the part about not focussing on bringing new life but improving the existing ones. We have so many people here and just need to talk.

    This post got reported.

The reporters are correct, you should have the entire thought in the title, then use the body to go into detail.

For example your title could have been “life is largely random circumstance, so relax”.

Shower thoughts aren’t typically advice for other people, unless you take showers with other people to save water, but it’s nice advice and it embodies the positive community that the code of conduct is designed to encourage.

I mean, I’d say like…you don’t need to treat animals better than you treat humans. But also, you absolutely are entitled to loving your pets. But also like…if you want kids, have them. Even if you’re broke. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Just try not to be a piece of shit. We’ve rocked it thus far in life, I don’t think we need to pair “you be you beau-beau” logic with “by the way, fuck natalism” stuff at the end. But that’s just me. Life is all about them breaths though. Keep the out-breath a smidgen longer than the in =)!

    Kurt Vonnegut would love this.

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
