When you become middle aged, not only do you feel silly for taking a selfie, you feel silly about all those people who are going to look at your awkward ass photo and be like “this dude looks awkward” and, so, with your head filled to the brim with these apparitions of doubt, you fulfill the ancient prophecy

I always thought “middle aged” referred to someone in their 50s. I get that the average person doesn’t live to 100, but I thought that was the connotation that the phrase has.

You’re middle aged when your growth hormones still exist, but the levels are starting to drop. You know you’re middle-aged when you twist your ankle and it doesn’t heal for a really long time.

When you start getting the injuries that don’t heal, that’s when you know.

It’s not a numerical thing. It’s a phase of human life. As we extend lifespan with new medical technologies, the stages won’t stretch out to fill the lifespan; we’ll add new phases at the end.

Those phases will be very strange, because they will involve drastic steps to maintain cognitive function in an aging brain. It could involve increasing top-down control of biology, or it would involve replacement of biology with machinery. Either way the new later stages of life will be stranger and stranger, and will feel different than any human experience does now.

At least that way you know who you are talking to, and you didn’t see just a non-binary anime profile pic 🤣🤣.

Look at the user account, and then look at their post history where they complain trans people are going too far etc.

I like anime and I have seen far more binary anime characters than non-binary. Japan is pretty traditional, and anime from Japan is pretty rare to feature a character that is non-binary. Ive seen a lot of movies, shows, and OVAs stretching all the way back to the late 1970s, and I think the amount of non-binary characters I have seen is like five or less, and almost exclusively from shows released in the past two years.

That’s not to say there weren’t characters that disguised themselves as men or women opposite to their gender (for various reasons, some because its a legitimate spy disguise, some because they want to, etc), but this would be considered cross-dressing, which is not the same as non-binary.
