More and more businesses have signs, emails and posts saying they are going to be closed today. Should it just be declared a national holiday?

I think there are two components to this. The first use the sport itself, and I believe they are a net positive both socially and financially. They second is public money used to fund stadiums. That I have a huge issue with. No public funds should be used to fund stadiums.

Stadiums are used for more than just one teams events. People even used one stadium to survive a natural disaster in recent history. It’s a complicated arrangement but the net positive is worth the sports teams getting what appears to be sweetheart deals.

I sort of posted this for fun because people are saying they have an unexpected employee shortage today and all. But if it were a national holiday, all the bs would end and you just take the day off or close. Not advocating for either way.

Oh the super bowl. Maybe that’s why our college campus was closed today Monday. I googled what the heck today holiday might have been and go ahead and Google it, the list is ridiculous but it has nothing to do with President’s birthdays or even the super bowl.
