Of course the human’s pissed off… with a single eye the alien evidently lacks depth perception, and will miss the ball most of the time. It’ll be a very boring game.

As a man with a very lazy eye who also lacks depth perception… y’know, that’s probably part of why I was never that good at this kind of sport.

Yeh but they might have other means of locating space, direction, and speed. Echolocation maybe? Something photon, but not eye, related? An ability to watch from the fifth dimension?

Seems more like it’s playing on that.

The guy is excited to be served, as we would assume it’s a Simpson reference and the alien is going to cook for them, instead they got served in sport, a meta subversion of our expectation of the joke.

Isn’t it just a reference to the twilight zone ?

          Indeed it is.

Also TIL that it’s originally a short story from 1950 that was later adapted for the Twilight Zone episode.

Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

The rules are simple:

  • The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author’s website, for instance).
  • The comic must be a complete story.
  • If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
  • You may post comics from others or your own.
  • If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
  • The comic can be in any language, but if it’s not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post’s ‘body’ field (note: you don’t need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
  • Politeness.
  • Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.
