If someone’s risking their life by doing shit like going into an active warzone and using social media to keep the public informed of what’s going on, doesn’t that probably count as “real” journalism, regardless of what online platform they upload to?

You can’t make real journalism in a few hundred characters or in a 10 sec video. But there are lots of bloggers with their own websites.
