I love that this project is still going. I rarely use it, but it’s going to be instrumental in preserving tons of Windows abandonware.

If you game on Linux, you are almost certainly using it.

I love your comment. Without thinking, I instinctively agreed with you. Then I was like, “wait, why wouldn’t you just run that software on Windows?”. So now I am wondering if you are predicting such a mass migration off Windows that all these Windows apps become abandonware.

Probably though, part of what you are saying is that it may be easier to maintain compatibility with older software via WINE than on Windows itself.

64 years from now, when ReactOS comes out of beta, it will be great for that as well.

CodeWeavers too btw. They also contribute a lot of code to Wine themselves. There were some Wine releases where CodeWeavers contributed ~90% of the code. Really nice to see a company supporting and developing open source software.

Not entirely of course as they have their own products they sell but they worked together on Proton.

Yeah, I know that. I even paid for one of their products.

Thanks, I didn’t know that. I only remember that they also contributed a lot of code to Wine.

Apparently they have some really talented developers and a good mission.
