It seems kind of inevitable at this point, and irony is truly dead. Either that, or the US will leave the region for whatever reason and it will be Israel’s turn again. Nobody local and powerful is really interested in the two-state solution anymore.

The US isn’t leaving the region - it’s committed an aircraft carrier already, which is big - so we should expect things to escalate. The EU, Egypt, and Jordan have been trying to de-escalate things, but the US, Israel, Palestine, and Lebanon seem VERY intent on a war that involves killing civilians.

Yes, I meant more long-term, given domestic political situations. Short term they’re still Israel’s enabler.
