i have a specific niche question about a sensitive topic, i write up a post, i go to the sub for it, and whenever i post it gets autoremoved, no PM no nothing, i don’t believe it’s breaking any rules, no help from the mods

i try another sub and it gets downvoted instantly, doomed to never be answered.

it’s so, SO fucking isolating and frustrating and blood boiling not even being able to post on a public forum. automod and auto removal has gotten absolutely out of control in the 20s. impossible site.

and it lies to you!! it lies and shows the post in the feed, but if you log out it’ll disappear because no one else can see it!

That or the responses get incredibly hostile. Which is honestly no different here on Lemmy.

Leaving Reddit for Lemmy is kinda like leaving one job for another. Its got the same problems, just a different flavor. I miss how Lemmy was like from 2 months ago.

I was thinking the same thing, that recently the tone around here has gotten more disagreeable. It might be something bigger going on, though. There is an old-style forum I visit that was quite pleasant for years, but lately I’ve been seeing surprisingly nasty comments there.

Without moderation to enforce basic netiquette, a forum will eventually become unpleasant mess. Some people would posts rude comments and insulting other posters. Some other members would see that behavior being tolerated and do it themselves. More members see the increase of unpleasant comments and decided to leave. Before long, the forum ended up as a toxic cesspool. This is currently happening in lemmy. I sometimes need to remind people to stop doing this and it seems to be working 50% of the time. Normal people will realize they’re being unpleasant when you point it out, while the trolls will keep on trolling.

Yeah, the forum I mentioned has pretty heavy moderation, so I could have just happened to see a few comments before they were deleted.
