I’ll bite. First of left and right reduces and labels people with a binary POV. Second thing is that the concept changes dramatically from country to country; if you think you are conservative in your country and go somewhere else maybe they will label you as too progressive (then you will feel that labelling people is a powerful and stupid weapon).
Recently I did a questionaire with 180 questions ranging from economy, distribution, costumes, religion and the state, democracy, education, technology, etc. That questionnaire labeled me on their database as someone who doesn’t have a strong opinion on each side and said I am almost perfectly center. When I did such questionnaires in the past I leaned further left and towards a powerful controlling state (still my vision but way more nuanced).
What changed from then till now? I stopped mass consuming news and began crafting my own set of opinions as unbiased as they could be, I read a lot more now and focus mainly on making my world and of those around me better (that is the only power we truly have). I am not saying you shouldn’t concern yourself with the bigger picture and if you truly want the greater good maybe politics is the way but a word of advice for younger generations: “Don’t play other peoples games”.
