I always get the vibe that FFDP are a bunch of really nice and polite people trying to give off a vibe of being hardcore and angry and not understanding how to do it.

I was going for “crypto-fash dweebs”, but I agree with the basic premise
I don’t know enough about them outside of my brother listening to them, your take is probably more accurate.
They are a little silly. A lot of the bands I like have a lot of music that sound the same, but at least try to be unique with it.
