A few times, I posted some innocuous comments on tankie instances and communities to express my - more than reasonable, I think - opinion that if capitalism is utterly fucked up, so is communism. Each time, I was quite literally verbally assaulted for “not knowing jack shit about history” and offered arguments to explain why I’ve been brainwashed and life in the USSR, cultural revolution China and contemporary North Korea is in fact a paradise. And promptly after, I got banned from whatever community I had commented on, and preventively banned from other tankie communities I hadn’t even set foot in 🙂
The tankies are like MAGA people: they’re truly deranged individuals.
They do for different reasons. The MAGA are convinced he’s their savior. Tankies are convinced he’ll hasten or collapse the West. I think the Tankies are right but they don’t have a fucking post game plan. It’s like burning down your house in the middle of winter for warmth.
