After a busy weekend last week (and in some serious heat, no less), I’ve given myself permission to fuck off and watch videos all day this weekend. It’s going to be glorious.
I have a thing for police bodycam videos because they’re both real and unpredictable. Gonna finish a run through Black Summer s2 and probably some movies or other undetermined streaming television. And I’m rewatching All of Us are Dead because I was drinking while we watched it the first time. And on Sunday, I will finish reading a book on early forms of ancient Christianity (history nerd / atheist).
During the first season, it was difficult to tell whether it was excellent or poorly made. Once the budget increased for s2, it was obvious that it was brilliant. What a great show. They could have taken it further. Great at everything.
I love post apocalyptic stuff especially when it’s zombies. I loved how realistic it was like people who couldn’t shoot for shit. It really showed the panic, confusion and how the situation veers between boring and terrifying.
I have also been going hard on bodycam videos recently! My favorite channel is the civil rights lawyer. The videos shown are normally cops abusing rights and it’s awful what they get away with, but his channel has had success changing charges due to how bad the cops do and how popular the channel is.

I love Black Summer! I was gutted when they cancelled it.

Yes it had a huge amount of potential and could have gone on for years. Another one gone too soon…
