My husband and I have own our Nissan Leaf since 2023 and apparently in 2024 Congress passed a second registration fee on all EV cars. So on top of our annual $50 (increased from last year) registration, we also are required if we want to own an electric vehicle to pay the government $200! What the actual FUCK! This is so much bullshit for literally the future of automotive travel. We’ve saved so much on gas that the Leaf has already paid us back but that’s some serious financial power armed against citizens who are trying to reduce their carbon footprint. Just needed to rant because we got the bill yesterday in the mail
