Well tbh, I don’t know the state of GIMP on Windows, but it definitely isn’t designed for it. It should not be buggy or crashy – at least it isnt on Linux. So I mean… Why Windows?

CS6 definitely runs on Linux via Wine. I’ve done through CS8. But again… There is little reason to do so assuming you’re running GIMP on the intended platform.

Edit: not trying to be a dick either. Mostly just trying to nudge you to give both Linux and GIMP another chance. DM me if you want, happy to help.

i’ve run GIMP on Windows, Linux, Haiku even, felt the same either way. so like at this point I just don’t care. and plus I use content aware fill, like, a lot. will not be using WINE, too much of a headache/

I mean… I guess I don’t get it then. GIMP is incredibly stable, so

Edit: also, Haiku? BeOS was great but probably shouldn’t play with Haiku until you’re comfortable in Linux.

Edit2: I only mentioned Wine because that’s how you would run CS6/8 on Linux. Wine also is not difficult.
