Suppose there’s a country that has resources you want. Let’s call this fictional, puny, backwards, country Volibia and let’s say they have this resouce called Mithium. Unfortunately, the leader of Volibia is a socialist who doesn’t like to do business with your great big excellent country because of a history of bullying into one-sided economic policies and coup attempts. What option’s do you have to get these resources?
You’ve gotta meddle in Volibia’s internal affairs to displace the party in power and replace them with your cronies. Stage a coup, etc.
Every nation should meddle in the affairs of other nations as much as they can for political/economic gain, right?
