A top comment asks “why so mad against french?”, and the OP (the main mod and poster of MoG) suggests it’s because we “hate france’s freedom of speech and their ‘anti-islam stance’”. Declines to share a link or context to the comment
Out of curiosity I went looking for the context to that comment, and discovered that it was in reaction to a wildly Islamophobic cartoon making a joke about Gazan’s starving during the month of ramadan [linky] [CW: Racism, Islamophobia, genocide]:

Turns out libs actually do practice critical support, but instead of critically supporting AES projects they support any state crusading against muslims.

I am just astounded by this… nothing justifies violence? Not even the Native Americans’ resistance to colonialism? The Ethiopians’ resistance to Fascism? The Jewish resistance to the Axis? Those were all unjustified?
Anytime somebody says that there’s never an excuse for violence you should just immeidatly say “give me your wallet or ill kick your ass” and then just keep saying that and calling them a hypocrite if they don’t just give it to you.
“There’s never an excuse for violence” is just something that sounds good to people who have never thought about anything.
I honestly don’t think he sees how absurd that insistence is, or else is extremely mindful of his own language to avoid contradicting his statements of non-violence.
He clearly has no problem with violence against Hamas/Hezbollah/Iran/Russia/China/anyOtherWesternBoogyman, but he’s careful never to outright say it. Whenever he gets close he deflects by whatabouting Iran or Russia or China.
