    I think BC should start requiring AC in a home if you’re going to rent it. Just like you should have a fridge and a toilet.

      Also, I think weather control films for windows should be encouraged(like tax rebate or subsidize the vendors), cause it would both cut summer and winter electricity usage by blocking/reflecting infrared radiation. It would lower the burden of BC Hydro and cut utility cost for people but it’s like dame expensive. There should be building code for these utility saving in place if we are serious about climate change.

        There are energy efficiency minimums for new builds in NBC 2020 Part 9 and I think the BC step code is more strict than NBC.
