I saw the service guy doing the maintenance on the automatic coffee machine in the office this morning, so I decided to give it a try this afternoon. It’s as good as this coffee can get just after the maintenance is done. It wasn’t good.
Otherwise, my daily morning filter brew is currently Bolivian Caranavi Bio from my local roster.

I have the same grinder and I always grind in the range of 2.5 - 3.5. Over 6 would be too coarse for any beans I’ve tried so far (talking about pour over / V60). Now it makes me wonder if something isn’t right with my grinder 🤔
I’ve upgraded my MK3 to S and then S+ and my MMU2 to S and then 3. Starting from the launch model of the MK3 and ending with MK3S+ and MMU3 costed me significantly less than buying a new printer. Yes, the upgrade kits across models are not worth it (MK3 to MK4 or MK4 to Core one), but what do you expect? At least they offer the option, and details documentation, you can even source all the parts by yourself.

I went to visit the great pyramids on a previous trip. You need to buy a ticket to enter the archeological site. There, you can enter inside the pyramid (this I didn’t do), you can get as close as you want, just not allowed to climb obviously. You can see the sphinx, there are many smaller tombes and structures around. It’s probably a good idea to take a guide to give you more details and explanation.
As far as I know, they only take cash for the Visa. USD and Euro are fine.
I think there is another app that locals use for rides, it don’t know it, I must ask.
I haven’t spent time in the historical Cairo city. Our office is outside in a newly developed area, 6th October it’s called, not far from the pyramids of Giza. It’s a good 30 minutes drive from Cairo center and I haven’t got the time or motivation to visit downtown. The new Grand museum is very good I’ve heard, I will try to save some time for it on my next visit.

I was in Egypt this year for business. We usually get a cab service and airport assistance booked via our office in Cairo, I can check the price for that tomorrow. We also used Uber few times and we paid something like 250EGP for short trips between the hotel and the mall, like 5~10km. It’s like 5USD. Some Uber will only take you if you pay cash, at least for short trips like that. I’ve only been to Cairo surrounding, no experience with Luxor. Luxor is 640km away from Cairo, I suppose you are aware of that.
Also, you need cash when you arrive at the airport, the visiting visa is 30USD and they will return the change in EGP.
