If you run into a bug please, PLEASE report it, all the time I hear people complain about bugs that most of us have never run into and can’t replicate, people can’t fix what they don’t know is a problem.

@jlow @hacknorris yeah, and lets touch on libreoffice, it has no community support? Huh? It has an active support community linked right on the main page at “ask libreoffice” that has an average turnaround on questions of around 15 minutes.

And unlike microsoft’s excel that seems more intent on stripping features and tying it to sharepoint than fixing 25+ year old reported bugs at least things work consistently and get fixed…(have to use it for work, the date bug still regularly bites me…)

@lightnsfw which distro? all major linux distros support the smb:// prefix out of the box. (the app shouldn’t matter, as it’s just a filesystem handle)

@ArsonButCute @lightnsfw can’t speak for him but most of the people I’ve helped their major pain points were literally that they never understood what they were doing, just which icons to click, to them IE WAS the internet and firefox was a “different” thing so they’d get frustrated no matter how many times they were told to click on firefox for the internet they’d claim the internet was missing.

Literally installing a windows icon pack/skin fixes 99% of the issues for many people.

@lightnsfw @DaddleDew what tax program? All the major ones I know of (at least in the US) not only run just fine but are fully supported by the company that makes them to run on linux (honestly mostly because they’re all either just web or electron apps now anyways)

@Gladaed @popcar2 because every bloated 100gb game is a mix of a thousand different assets/executables/libraries where the developer thought “why optimize, 100MB is nothing”.

Often with little more than symbol stripping, removing unneeded files, and basic lz compression you can cut most game sizes in half, reduce load times, and free up terabytes of space on your system.

@gamerbro83 @toAIC pretty sure someone just saw the opportunity to run a donations scam (mirror for a few months, maybe change the default theme while taking donations). Seems to be the thing to do for that crowd (cause drama, scam others based off the drama)

it’s in the repo for basically any linux distribution too so the source and executables are mirrored on literally thousands of servers and easily downloadable, so absolute worst case scenario it’s version froze at 1.1.1388 for the time being.

all that happened to yuzu is a slight name change so i don’t expect much more here.
