Homebrewing - Beer, Mead, Wine, Cider@sopuli.xyz•When life gives you lemons...
3·1 个月前@homebrewing do you have some ideas what I can do with some hops?
It is bit older, probably not too bitter but still nice aroma. Only thing I know it is T90 Sládek from 2017.
@paulywill @plactagonic@sopuli.xyz so what’s the plan? Make wort and mix it with raspberry juice and ferment it or something more elaborate?
@paulywill @plactagonic@sopuli.xyz like, is it in fermenter or just in planning stage?
This seems like overkill aging time for me.

Homebrewing - Beer, Mead, Wine, Cider@sopuli.xyz•I opened first two bottles of my #cider the test batches with hops and spices.

It is much better resource than what I wrote on Lemmy year ago. He also writes about what you can add. In my case I make cider from whatever apples I can get my hands on.

Homebrewing - Beer, Mead, Wine, Cider@sopuli.xyz•So it begins, this year about month earlier. Tomorrow I will get it juiced and expect ~100 l of juice. It was little bit unexpected to do it today but somehow I managed to do it, in 4 weeks I should
7·2 年前So all juiced, it could be better it has 11% sugars (2% less then last time we did it). Still better than last year when we didn’t have any apples.

@AchtungDrempels I am glad you saw it, my instance went down after I posted it. So now I have to use mastodon (my alt account instance doesn’t federate with world)
@AchtungDrempels I hope you get well soon. And thanks for adding to my post, unfortunately I can’t see your response on my instance.

@CorneliusTalmadge problem is that 10kg is good for like 8000l or so (depends on the beer style, it is guesstimate from big batches I made when I worked in brewery) so still bit too much for stuff like that. It is more than lifetime supply for my homebrewing and as you said not good for serious brews.
I put some in freezer (~1year for me) and some for other people to use. In total ~5kg set aside and I can get another 20kg of this stuff.
So if someone has any ideas what to do with shitload of hops I’m all in for some nefarious experiments.
