If you need ice, instead of buying ice cubes from the grocery store, you can put water in the freezer and wait!

I was twenty six months of migraines. Never got a diagnosis. I just got better over a week all of a sudden. Four triptans (nausea on one), gabapentin (did nothing), indomethacin (confusion, nausea), maxeran (induced panic attacks), candesartan (nothing), Botox (fainting, sort of helpful but diminishing returns and $$$$), propranolol (nausea), topiramate (nothing), CBD/THC (hallucinations, no pain relief), and one other that I forget the name of. Orange tinted glasses kind of helped.
What loopy’s saying. I find it easier to be like “Disk A: Linux, Disk B: Windows” and use separate EFI partitions, so I generally do that on computers where I can stuff two separate disks, but I have machines with only one hard drive, and then I just go “First half of disk: Windows, second half: Linux.” I agree that install Windows then Linux is the way to go. True story: quadruple booted an old MacBook Pro: supported Mac OS, OCLP Mac OS, Windows 11, Ubuntu. Did it for a friend, spent forever getting it all to work, then he set it down in a coffee shop and walked away. Never saw it again.
Random idea if possible: get a sleep study? If you’ve got apnea, sleep will never rejuvenate you. If you live in the bad place and have to pay big $$ for a sleep study, set up your phone to do a low light recording of your sleep. Play it back, and if you hear yourself pausing breathing… Bingo.
This is how I explained Matrix to my mom: its like an email address, but for chat. You can chat at me, even if we aren’t using the same server, like someone can send an email from Gmail to Hotmail. She got set up and promptly went back to texting me every dang time.
I’m following this. I also can’t. It’s not the pain, as soon as I see the needle, stars, woozy, out cold. Hell, even if someone else is doing it and I know it’s happening…
The big one is no Snaps. You can get them, but I prefer flatpaks which I use on LMDE.
I’ve been enjoying LMDE. Mint without Ubuntu.
Didn’t I see something about someone bringing it back? They should call it Miley CyrOS.

Drugs! Nothing like an addiction to really make things bad!
I have been on Fedora since 33 or 34, and quite like it. I will say that I have had upgrade woes twice though. I set up Nextcloud on Ubuntu using snaps about 10 years ago, and it’s still kicking, although it goes down every time it decides it’s going to update itself. Win 11 at work: Randomly, half our fleet stopped loading Teams chats last week, and six machines lost their UEFI boot entries today. Big fan.

My client didn’t tell me that there was video, so if you hadn’t mentioned it, I would have missed the flip kachunk, flip video that was so entertaining. (Boost for Lemmy.) Also: Why can’t we have nice things in Canada? Not purchase-able up here!
I did a tailscale to a VPS for a while, but then the VPS host got bought by Microslop…
When I was 10, I did this. Except, I used a lot of electrical tape to take a step ladder to the tubes of the forklift, then climbed the ladder to change the bulbs. It’s okay, my dad was driving the forklift, and I climbed down to the bottom run of the ladder everytime he moved it.

I was thinking of posting something about all the tracking and control in… Linux, but then decided why bother?

I spent two years with inexplicable migraines. LCDs literally hurt. As such, I have an extensive collection of e-ink devices! Seriously, for a sad few, a typical display might as well be like hammering your skull every time you look at it. Hell, I even used the Windows Remote Desktop app on my Inknote just to do basic computing. (I got better.)
I’m a card-carrying member, lifetime, of MMGFN, but they are Making More Godzilla Films Now, so…
