So most dating apps are full of the people who can’t keep a relationship, cheat, aren’t investing into something, or are the “leftovers.” I have a ton of female friend and what I saw on the dating apps when we were 25 was horrendous. As you get into your late 20s and early 30s you start seeing a lot of divorcees and single parents who then don’t have time and therefore don’t invest. Or do “invest” but now aren’t worth it because their kids should be more important.

The people of sh.it.just.works and Lemmy.world both loved to try and act like I was out of line for calling for open carry the other night. Unfortunately California state law doesn’t allow for it. I think that it’s the only way to get them to back off with the Marines, the National Guard and with ICE though. If they’re not going to be afraid of us then they’re never going to change and the people saying “don’t give them a reason to escalate” will keep saying that up to the first battles at which point they’ll run and cower.

Where does the goal post moving stop? It’s not an escalation of violence if you don’t use it. It’s a threat to escalate to violence. If they aren’t afraid of you then they’re not going to change.

When they declare martial law are you going to be saying the same thing and hoping by just chanting loudly you change their mind?

What’s the acceptable number of dead people before also showing you’re armed is acceptable? Is it 5? 10? Maybe 1000?

If you pull up with guns they may kill you, but you have a better fighting chance than not. Plus if you were already going to die, since you’re so kind to sacrifice some people, wouldn’t you rather take some of them with you?

There’s a great video from WSJ with their exec team that talks about how those notifications are hugely beneficial both to their users, and to their revenue. Even if you pay for the full thing like I do you still get those notifications. They aren’t “desperate” they’re targeted specifically to get people to come back and keep learning. They also don’t care about showing you ads as much since their majority of money comes from paying users. If anything the ads are to just get you to pay for the app.

The stock market did not in fact hit its all time high today.

The stock market works in quarters mostly. Check back in post Q2/H1 and you’re likely to see the impacts then.

They still have shoppers in them. Plus their suits/business attire can be nice to look through if you don’t want to pay Nordstrom or higher prices.

That said, it isn’t just Macy’s. When everyone is cutting their forecasts this early in the year (most started early in Q2) then it adds to a bigger picture.

It’s the Bay Area. Money perspective is completely different. The cost just to across the bay bridge is like $10 (might still be $8) already now. Either way you’re still saving money, but the time savings is huge. That drive from Oakland into SF can take 1+ hour to go that 12 miles. It’s brutal.

People are acting like this man got conned or like they’re stupid. This was a bribe for a get out of jail free card. If you’re rich and make your money in black market ways this is the best possible decision you can make. Your name is on a list in front of the president even if you didn’t meet him. That means a pardon in the future.
