Technology@lemmy.world•How Google Tracks and Scans Everything on Your Android DeviceEnglish
9·2 days agoThat doesn’t stop or turn off google services, or services framework, or safety scan, or scanning your images, or reading your contacts and phone logs, what apps you use, when you use them, biometric data, location data, etc.
You can mitigate against these by limiting permissions or appops with adb or shizuku enabled programs.
Uninstall/disable as many google apps, components, and services as safely possible.
Use a DNS filter to block Google from sending data, DNS rebinding, and using mdns for internet.
Or go all the way and use graphene or similarly degoogled OS.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Data stored in Canada can be subject to foreign courts, government paper warns
6·2 days agoSo if Canada makes some law that just says we have whatever jurisdiction or authority over whatever matter in whatever nation, our law supersedes their law.
That’s the logic.
This is false.
They are simply allowing the corps do do as they please.

581·3 days ago“Should” now means shall/will, apparently.
I mean, yeah, trump should be executed.
I won’t be the one to do it. (But, whoah boy will whoever gets to push that lethal injection button, or yank that electrocution lever, or firing squad, be some satisfied person, if justice ever finds him)
But based on facts, he is legally eligible to be executed. By American law. By common law. Etc.
Anyway, the dude probably shouldn’t have done the whole selfie thing and announced his feelings as such using his actual trackable self in a video.
With this arrest, I’m sure there will be many to follow for the number of Republicans who have declared hunting season on Democrats. So many arrests. Just you wait. Bigly numbers.
For Republican hunting reference, please enjoy an old comment of mine:

Also: Executed and assassinated are not the same things.
It just seems like an aweful lot of expected food/organic waste.
I also live in / manage a house with university students.
Once every 2 weeks for garbage is a mess already.
I already have them all tossing every organic scrap into one of my heaps.
The amount of bottled water these people consume is insane.
I understand the intent. And I’ve been way ahead of the curve for years.
But unless inorganic and non recyclable waste is cut at the source, it won’t be reduced.
I mean, I just bought some breakfast sausages a while back and Wtf they were individually wrapped in plastic inside plastic inside plastic.
I toss maybe a kitchen size bag of trash per week. I don’t know that I can reduce any more unless I eat the plastic. Well, I guess technically I already am…

News@lemmy.world•Billie Eilish drags billionaires in speech with Mark Zuckerberg in the room
672·7 days agoBut were they eviscerated?
And did they all go to the same cocktail party afterwards?
After they are properly digested and shat into the appropriate stage compost heap.
Bones can be worn as trophies.
Funny.
My city just 2 weeks ago began the blue/green bin program with garbage collected only every 2 weeks.
The level of stupidity and fuckery knows no bounds.
Also, I ain’t giving them my compost That’s for my garden.

All that work for 1%?
And what does ‘somewhat numerical in nature’ and ‘more than that’ mean ?
The calculator gets 1.2% ?
