Ahh, fuck.
I’m a federal employee. I’ve also had to download my most recent earnings & leave statements (something I usually ignore) and take a snapshot of my current leave totals…just in case DOGE fucks it all up.

Remember being told not to believe everything you read? Remember being told to be skeptical of what you read in the media?
I definitely was. The people that told me that almost certainly voted Trump though. (They’re not nut job supporters, but lifelong R’s.)
I think last has it, too, but I’m not sure.
I’m not clear on your use case here - the system obviously can’t report if it’s off. Initially I thought this was in the Home Assistant community, and I was going to suggest just pinging the machine at regular intervals from the HA system. That makes sense if you’re trying to monitor various systems.
This was such a great reaction moment.
Real problems finally solved. ✅
I find it hard to believe he’d just table the idea at that point.
Oh right! I’ll let the evidence of my erroneous memory stand.
I agree, this episode is one of the best. I especially like how we only see it from the team that was in the runabout, so the viewer has no insight into the mystery. (I think they did the same in the episode where the crew devolved, but I’m not sure.)
People make themselves all about one thing all the time. Car is just one possibility. Surely you’ve met those incredibly dedicated sports fans that build their entire lives around whatever team they follow. Some people are very proud they use Arch Linux. Others build their identity around Elon Musk or Donald Trump. It’s just a form of tribalism.
We pay many bills via credit cards, which we then pay in full every month. The credit cards offer something like 2% cash back that can be applied to pay down the balance of the card at some point in the future.
It’s not much, but it’s essentially giving us a 2% break on the bill. Of course if you carry a balance, the interest will far outweigh any gain. So you have to be disciplined and careful. The cards we have do not have an annual fee, either.
The card company still does it even without charging us interest because they make money on the transaction - they charge the vendor a fee.
I had it happen a few times. I moved away from Kubuntu as a result.
I’ve had it happen too. In fact it is what prompted me to move away from Kubuntu.
This is affecting our work - our Share point was down for two days while they looked through it for any mention of dei, delaying plenty of work that had nothing to do with dei.
But even putting that aside, now we have many (thousands?) government employees on admin leave, which means they’re getting paid to do nothing. And likely will be for months.
And this delayed resignation thing, if they uphold their end of the deal, will cost even more. Especially since many of the takers seem to be people who were going to retire anyway, or “super commuters” that don’t live near the office, both of whom were likely on their way out anyway.
That’s a lot of money they are spending for no return at all.
“Choose Love” sounds a lot like the message that pastor had at his inauguration. Point being, he’s likely to be offended by that as well.
I’m usually anti dealer badges, but when we bought our Accord, the dealer said if we kept the dealer license plate frame on, we’d get free car washes for life. We took advantage of that many times. Seemed a fair trade to me.
I’m blocking you, per your request.
Look at the fine stitching on “dope”!
Yep. Elon names everything DOGE or X.
