Most of the time, my workflow involves two or three terminal windows, my IDE and a browser. I spread them across three monitors, and tile them using the ctrl+super+arrow shortcuts in cinnamon. Am I basically getting the same thing?
I’ve been using linux for about 20 years and have never used a tiling WM. What are the benefits? What am I missing out on? My current daily driver is Mint with Cinnamon.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Whats the best minipc for selfhosting nextcloud.English
141·2 months agoIf you’re only running nextcloud on it, any computer 15 years old or newer, with at least 4GB ram will be able to handle it.
If you want to have a reliable installation, avoid a raspberry pi and get a computer that can take at least two storage drives so that you can set up RAID. Or better yet, mount the storage from a dedicated NAS.

Linux@lemmy.ml•It seems Linux Mint is dropping GNU coreutils in favor of rust-coreutils following Ubuntu.

Skip intros and credits is available on Jellyfin.
I think the Plex UI is still better than Jellyfin, but I’ve gotten used to it.
Never used the smart collections when I was on plex, so can’t speak to that.
Authentik can be configured through terraform
Thanks! I’ll check it out
I tried it before authelia, and it felt like an unfinished product. Nice looking, but there were weird issues, like you could create projects (or apps? i don’t remember) through the UI, but then if you wanted to delete them you had to use the API. The hierarchy of resources also didn’t really feel intuitive to me. But that’s just personal preference. I’ve been testing out authentik today and I really like it. I like that the UI works great, but there’s also a terraform provider to manage things declaratively.
Yep, this is what I’m looking for
I like the “supportware” term, I can apply that to a few other tools (airbyte, teleport). I ended up setting up authentik today and it went really smoothly. So far I like it a lot, so hopefully the full enshittification process doesn’t happen soon. Even though right now I just want to use it for my own self-hosting purposes, I’m also interested in potentially using it for work. We have a few hundred thousand users and AWS cognito is getting pretty expensive.

Maybe I haven’t found the right face shield. I have a couple, but I hate wearing them.
I have that same problem. I found a dust mask made by ForgedAir with an integrated eye shield that fits great, but the material around the mouth and nose is not very breathable so it makes my face sweaty. If you live in a colder climate than I do, it might be a good choice.

2·1 year agoThanks! It’s actually difficult to find AC fans nowadays. Most are DC. It annoys me because I have separate light and fan switches on my walls, and that doesn’t work with DC fans.

I’m not jealous. 😬
