I was questioned by others about why I use Linux. I don’t think I need to explain the reasons to every Windows user.

I use a combination of my instincts, including distro-hopping, since I began using Linux in 2017, reading articles online about Linux tutorials, and even watching YouTube videos. I gave up on Linux and returned to Windows many times, but it ultimately made me return to Linux because it is meant to be my forever operating system. There are so many Linux tutorials available online, including on YouTube. Indian channels taught me how to install Ubuntu, and that was my most memorable beginning with Linux. I also recommend chatting with current viral technologies such as generative AIs; they’ll provide you with answers. So, keep exploring Linux. 😎👍

I think, no.

I agree. I also choose to believe that admins and mods have done and are doing their best, because in my online experience, it is always contrary to what some negative users claim, that mods and admins are not doing their job. No, it’s the opposite. This is especially true when the team of admins and mods is transparent about their decisions.

Also, I have concerns that if I sign up for only one instance, that instance may shut down one day and I could lose all my data.

I can see that some instances have different rules and different kinds of names. So far, I have found that lemmy.world is the most reliable and general instance I can participate in. I discovered another instance called monyet.cc; the name looks funny. “Monyet” in Malay means “monkey.” That’s why I am currently awaiting their review to see if I can participate in that instance.

There’s a difference between filtering out abusive behavior and avoiding differing opinions.

I think that the user isn’t literally named Nicole. Also, the picture sent to us may not represent the user behind the screens either. I believe I will never know who the user is behind the pictures sent to us and the name “Nicole.” Perhaps the moderators can do their job, and the fediverse developers can take steps to make our network more secure from unsolicited interactions.
