Neopronouns are cool. The fact that they’re less legible to cis people than more “respectable” forms of address isn’t a bad thing, and your friend shouldn’t make fun of them. But being in that position means they are more conspicuous and draw a lot of negative attention. I use it/its pronouns sometimes, in addition to she/her, but the cis people I know really do not like or cooperate with that.

I actually had no idea Ethel Cain was trans. Never listened to her music, but I’ve heard of several trans artists that I don’t listen to, and I’ve heard people talk about her music, so it’s kinda weird that that detail never came up

I’ve been using Openreads recently, it works pretty well. It’s an open source app, all just on your phone, but it pulls info from open library. I also use storygraph lol, but I’ve been reconsidering it a bit because of the AI features

not surprising, I remember watching spider move when I was a kid and thinking they were obviously intelligent. sure they creep me out but I hate killing them for no reason, same with literally any other living thing
