So… I guess she is a smart woman after all?
OTOH I hope OP is at least pretty.
And who was paying her 24 hr / day before Richard Gere’s character came along?
habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Everything Apple iOS 18 Will Do, Android Already DoesEnglish3·1 year agoI do think it’s a useful distinction considering open models can be more than 100B+ nowdays and GPT4 is rumored to be 1.7T params. Plus this class of models are far more likely to be on-device.
habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Everything Apple iOS 18 Will Do, Android Already DoesEnglish63·1 year agoNo phones can run “LLMs” currently because by definition, large.
Some Android phones however can and does run smaller models locally. Gemini Nano runs on Pixel 8 and can run on Samsung phones.
habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Everything Apple iOS 18 Will Do, Android Already DoesEnglish173·1 year agoIt’s not a LLM, it’s a much smaller model (~3B) which is closer to what Microsoft labels as a SLM (Small Language Models, e.g. MS Phi-3 Mini).

habanhero@lemmy.cato Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•[Discussion] Do you still use your Steam Deck much?2·1 year agoIt’s server-based so you need to be online to play. However you can pretty much play it solo without interacting with other players (which is how I generally play it, save the occasional events and challenges).
They’ve added significant amount of content post-launch which includes new locations, NPCs, missions etc so it’s not too bad, although I would say NPCs aren’t as well put together as other Fallout games.

habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.zip•The Asus ROG Ally X is official — and I took a peek insideEnglish5·1 year agoASUS is terrible not because they make bad products (in fact many of them are good), they are terrible because of their horrendous support.
There is no shortage of customer service horror stories because of this company. I would not give them money.
habanhero@lemmy.cato PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•ASUS reveal the ROG Ally X with more RAM, more storage, larger battery47·1 year agoGreat that ASUS is helping handheld PC gaming advance but from a consumer perspective, I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone buying ASUS products.
Their customer service is legendary for being abysmal and for something like the Ally you need good support.
habanhero@lemmy.cato Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•[Discussion] Do you still use your Steam Deck much?2·1 year agoI’m in the same boat but having a blast with FO76. I’m glad I waited since the rocky launch back in 2018 - while the game is still far from perfect, it’s a lot of fun to play and Bethesda did a good job fixing up the game.
habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Google Search Is Now a Giant HallucinationEnglish1·1 year agoTo be brutally honest, many times I see Reddit / Lemmy proclaim, “Product X is dead because it did Y” - these claims are usually followed by surges in revenue / stock performance by said company and soon no one really talks much about it. Example - Netflix Password crackdown.
I mean, if you are listening to Daft Punk for lyricism, you’re doing it wrong.
habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Google Search Is Now a Giant HallucinationEnglish9·1 year agoYes, again I’m not saying that’s how it should be, I’m saying what is.
Enshittification won’t be a thing if actual user experience matters as much as we like it to in business.
habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Google Search Is Now a Giant HallucinationEnglish3·1 year agolol I don’t. The earnings report is public.
habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Google Search Is Now a Giant HallucinationEnglish7·1 year agoSure but Google Search has been crappy for many quarters.
I’m not saying thats how it should be, I’m just pointing out what is.
habanhero@lemmy.cato Technology@lemmy.world•Google Search Is Now a Giant HallucinationEnglish1315·1 year agoI get your point but from a business perspective Google is doing pretty well (see last quarterly earning and they announced dividends for the first time). It’s good to be a shareholder and from that perspective the CEO is doing a good job.
Time and time again markets have shown, within reason, poor user experience and anti-consumer policies do not negatively impact stock price.

Not going to disagree with the tough world out there, I’m just going to suggest / ask a few things that are at least somewhat in your realm of control that might help.
