in unrelated news, it looks like drought in hungary got less severe and they started up their NPP again, now with 3 out of 4 blocks running (one of them ran the entire time, for some time at reduced load)

yeah i figured, i don’t know if you have figured that things have changed in the last 20 years or so

closer to 20%, and about as many as opposed EU accesion in the first place. PiS barks a lot but doesn’t want to actually quit because this would eviscerate their support base that does depend on EU funding, like farmers but not only them

what the fuck are you talking about, nobody wants to leave eu, comparing 90s to now it’s like day and night

i come from a bit flatter place and yeah farming used to be something done by about everyone as a side job, but while most of land around village, population 500, was also owned by about everyone, now 3/4 of it is owned by maybe 4 families who are actual, professional farmers who do actual, industrial farming. (this really kicked off when farmers could get loans for new machinery, and with EU money influx) other than another handful of people who work within village, and retirees, everyone else commutes to and works in bigger towns around, and some moved abroad entirely. this is how it looked in 00s, and from there it can go in two directions: when there’s not enough people around, all of these tiny shops in villages close and people eventually move out, or some people open other small businesses where they live and situation stabilizes sort of. but also independent from that, some people who get specialized degrees don’t come back but instead stay in cities where they got it, because there are no jobs they’re qualified for there. there are villages where places like hairdressers or various kinds of workshops open up and people stay and live there and there are villages where there are no births in entire year, because everyone under 30 moved out

they were already on that page, but in additon to being dipshits they’re also spineless. they’re choosing EU money over their religious nonsense most of the time

It’s awesome if you’re a tourist. hardly a local phenomenon, farming and forestry got professionalized, less people can get jobs in these sectors, people move out, there’s not enough traffic to sustain other businesses and you get dying villages filled with stubborn retirees

Sure can. Plenty of local governments receive EU funding, but it will take time
The European Commission blocked €150 million funds for LGBTQ-free zones, and also blocked a 42 billion Euro payment from the COVID-19 recovery fund, due to Poland not obeying EU law.[168] In January 2023, the Polish town of Świdnik abolished their LGBT-free zone in response to fearing that they would stop receiving EU subsidies.[169] In February 2023, the European Commission ended its legal action against the LGBT-free zones.[170] In May 2023, the European Commission said that the LGBT-free zones would stop receiving EU funding if they continue their policies.[171]

it’s one of these places where nobody wants to live including locals. the ones that do also live from tourism (and forestry/farming)

it’s really split between there and some 100km wide belt along eastern border, except the people living in the very southeastern corner, they’re chill

It would be a round 2
LG would be South Korea. Maybe it contacts tracks on PCB below and it’s some kind of semi-conductive rubber

lol as if they could plan this far forward

cofnas got suspended for being a racist dipshit
times high education got wind of it all over nine months before cofnas did, but didn’t publish because of SLAPP possibility https://www.timeshighereducation.com/opinion/i-was-reported-police-over-arday-case-i-was-just-doing-my-job https://www.timeshighereducation.com/opinion/jason-arday-many-things-can-be-possible-same-time i read it as multifaceted shitshow

cancer is in large part an old people disease, if you avoided dying of cholera you’re more likely to die of something else. also now there’s a lot of people who were exposed to carcinogens decades back, and we got better at treating pr preventing some other common causes of death like stroke or heart disease

A New York Times profile describes how nChain staffers would “tape Dr Wright’s ramblings about obscure technical matters and then share the recordings with a staff of researchers, who were instructed to turn his musings into patents”.
so chatbots are “democratizing” whatever the fuck he was doing, and probably he’s running gas town now instead
this is how antibodies work
