Thought about this, but another book of a similar age has tape like this on it and it unfortunately turned yellow and opaque and covered up what was underneath. It’s old tape so maybe modern tape doesn’t do that? But I’m not sure how to be certain.

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. Don’t let him use alcohol as an excuse for pushing your boundaries. If this is how he’s acting around your family at a holiday, how will he act when you’re alone? Somebody worthy of you would never do this. You deserve someone who can drink without disrespecting your body and your birthday.

Regulation. People will always adapt, but imo this is firmly a policy and governance issue.
