Few decades ago, I was doing non-military service in a mental hospital as an assistant nurse of sorts. In one of the closed wards there was this guy I used to semi-regularly take out for walks. One day I get to work and I’m told that the guy had died, apparently another patient had smuggled in a knife coming back from leave, and stabbed him through the heart. He had been able to walk to the nurses room with a knife sticking out of his chest and calmly say “He stabbed me”. The knife in his heart was keeping him alive, but a clueless nurse drew the knife out and he quickly bled out. The guy was harmless, there was no animosity between him and the stabber, the stabber was just having a psychotic episode, or so I was told. Yeah just something I’ll never forget.
