No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it true that in the US we are a low context culture and In France, they are high context culture? The video I'm going to attach explains the differences.
1·8 days agoThat contrast part where somebody says they’re going to town and they could grab one for you, and then supposedly you’re supposed to say no that’s OK.
I’ve literally never heard that. I’m over 50 years old. I’ve never heard of that statement. If somebody offered to do something nice for you and you can use the item. Why are you saying no? Say thank you. Tell them make sure you grab the receipts that way I can get you the money or give them the money in advance.
I’ve never heard of this concept of oh no that’s OK. Don’t put yourself out. Why are you doing that? What now you have to drive into town and spend your money when they were already in town? This makes no sense. Make sure you pay them and probably toss them a little extra cash for having made the trip and the effort.
Why would you say no? Again I’ve never heard of this concept.
What state do you live in?

21·8 days agoI’ve never even heard of declining the first one.
I was raised if you offer something to someone and they say no. Then the answer is no. Don’t bug them.
I’m over fifty btw

News@lemmy.world•Turning Point USA Is Hosting Its Own Halftime Show Because the Super Bowl Is Too Gay
1·10 days agoYou are probably correct on that. Although the majority of the people I talk to have gotten bored with halftime show

News@lemmy.world•Turning Point USA Is Hosting Its Own Halftime Show Because the Super Bowl Is Too Gay
1·10 days agoLoved 2000 with Phil Collins and Christina Aguilera
2001 with Aerosmith and Britney Spears was good
2004 with Janet Jackson was good up to a certain point
2007 with Prince was awesome
2013 with Beyoncé was good if I remember right
2017 with lady Gaga was interesting although weird at times(for the record, I really do like Lady Gaga’s singing. I’m a huge fan of hers. But the halftime show left a little bit to be desired.)
I’d say 2013 was the last I can say was really good. Not that Gaga was bad though
After that, the music many times is stuff I don’t enjoy or really listen to. And the style just changed not sure how to explain it

21·11 days agoHonestly, the halftime show has been boring for many years. I’ll probably just record the game and then start watching a little bit late so I can fast forward through the halftime show.

I’m not sure what you mean by center button. The bottom center button says lemmy.world and I see nothing in there that covers the info
