  • The thing which pissed me off was PvP level was tied to your total souls accumulated, not your current level.

Dark Souls II wanted you to spend every soul you’ve earned, and disregard any meta-level for the sake of PvP matchmaking.

So if you ever got stuck on an area for too long, or grind, you might shoot past other players and never get matched fairly.

Conversely, you might start getting paired with players way above your level.

I’m a vegan and it’s kinda funny, but maybe its because vegans have a superior sense of humour, due to our diets creating ideal conditions for our brains to operate at peak performance.

I eat French fries, prepackages samosa’s, toast and icypoles every day. Its basically the best diet possible and I’ve started learning how to levitate.

  • No he doesn’t. He has had Charles Murray on his podcast twice, I’ve listened to both episodes.

Both of them accepted there are more differences within racial groups than between them. Furthermore, both accepted that environmental factors and systemic racism are contributing factors to mental growth.

Sam actually pushed back on Murray and pressed him on the point of “why care about this at all?” To which Murray floundered and made himself out to be the racist dickhead he is.

Sam was right to challenge him on this point as I’m sure you’ll agree.

For what it’s worth, I’m not riding Sam’s dick. I disagree with him on many things, but I really see this specific issue as really dumb and misunderstood because everyone froths at the mouth the second someone says “race” and “IQ” in the same sentence.

Side note: Murray had such an easy out. He simply could’ve said “to distinguish between the heritability of IQ and environmental factors for the sake of equitable outcomes.”

Instead, he pointed to affirmative action being embarrassing for black students when they can’t keep up with their peers at prestigious universities…

  • Sam Harris paints Muslims as a monolith of Islamic fundamentalism

Did you watch the full clip? Sam himself admits that the overwhelming majority (~80%) of Muslims are not a problem.

There are definitely progressive Muslims who, like progressive Christians and Jews, take the parts of their religion they like/value and leave behind the dated/misogynistic parts

Sam is on the record saying that people pushing for these changes need to be recognised as modern day heroes. They need support to change the religion from within.

The point is this: Sam is actually making a great point but Ben is too stupid / emotional to understand they’re already on the same page.

We’re The lions are right. Without killing the gazelle, the population would become unsustainable (they love unprotected sex and having children out of wedlock).

Eventually, they would eat all the crops and starve themselves to extinction. And I’ll be damned if my tax dollars go to supporting those lazy good for nothing gazelles.

Now let me exploit them until they bleed for me, literally.

  • Atheism and agnosticism are not mutually exclusive positions.

    Theism is a belief structure.

Gnosticism (I’m not talking about that Gnosticism) is a knowledge structure.

Everyone is one of the following:

    • gnostic theist - I know (and believe) God exists
    • agnostic theist - I believe God exists (but I don’t know)
    • agnostic atheist - I don’t believe God exists (and I can’t know)
    • gnostic atheist - I know (and believe) God doesn’t exist

Funnily enough, being a gnostic atheist is the weakest epistemic stance because of the burden of proof. The stubbornness is baked into the assertion.

The second weakest position is gnostic theism. These people are simply using logical fallacies as a post-hoc vehicle to arrive at the truth they want.

The third weakest position is agnostic theism, and it’s one religion actually wears as a badge of honour; Faith.

Finally, agnostic atheism, the truly enlightened finish line:

“I don’t know if God exists or not, but I know enough to spot a bullshit argument, and I have not heard a compelling argument for why I should believe in something I cannot verify”
