  • Have you tried to reinstall windows? Or at least run a repair? Sometimes this can be a OS problem.

You can also use a wattage meter where you plug the computer in and measure it through the meter. You could see if there is a abnormally high power draw and begin to narrow things down.

Unplug everything that isn’t necessary to see if it’s a accessory issue.

One last thing you can do is grab a pen and paper, and setup a software CPU temp monitor and write down everything that happens when it goes black. Especially sounds the computer makes.

Also try and replicate it with another monitor.

  • We have a small herd of deer that comes through our yard and we leave corn out in the winter and in the summer fill up a boulder that was carved out like a bowl over many years of sitting in a creek.

We have names for a few of them

    • round ear (she has round ears, and is very old)
    • chicky mama (she has at least 1 fawn every year)
    • limpy ( she got hit by a car and now has a limp
    • ticks ( this is the unlucky one that gets all the ticks)

    That’s the 4 of them

  • Ok, you sound very nervous by how your typing. Go take a few deep breaths and take a quick walk around the block or something so relax so you have a clear head to process this.

Once your done (I am going to assume you have android) download rethink DNS and look through the logs to see if there are any apps making suspicious requests and Google them to see what they are.

From there you can tell what’s compromised and maybe how you got compromised so we can help

  • Same here, while this was a few years back it’s still relevant. My girlfriends parents are helicopter parents and would have a back door into everything if they could. So the one day I noticed that her mother had said to me that she doesn’t mind us going to movies two weeks from then. This was only said between the two of us in a text. This was a good opportunity to switch her over to signal. She asked me if there is a way to check if she was in anything else so I had her change password and move over to a password manager instead of the paper notebook in her room that her mother probably looked through.

Only a week later her mother did look through that notebook at one point for passwords because because she openly asked for it one day “so she could check her school email for scholarship information”, didn’t ask for just the password, but the whole notebook. From what I remember my girlfriend had a conversation with her mother about privacy that would turn into an argument.

Moral of the story, even people you are told you are supposed to trust aren’t trustworthy.
