Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Cliparr v1 Release - Personal Media ClipperEnglish
9·2 个月前Right now it just has a resolution toggle but I have been thinking of adding a quality target like we do with screenshots. A file size target is a bit more complicated but technically possible. I think a lot of apps would likely slap a “social media target”. I think we could do something similar.
Yes. This has always been possible.
The situation did not change. You were wrong ten years ago too.
It has not changed. Your experience is, you didn’t read the docs, made an assumption, and have been incorrect ever since. Idc if you call it a lie or not, but you know now. If you continue to spread this misinformation, it is absolutely a lie.
This is incorrect and parroted constantly. It almost feels intentional.

I’m tempted to write one. I might be terrible and write it in Node (still a CLI), because I don’t want to write all the TUI components in Go, and I don’t know Rust, sorry.
I mean officially. In the POSIX standard, it has officially been replaced. de facto standard as by users, it has remained dominant. We have just not been following POSIX as closely as we could (and we don’t have any reason to).

32·2 年前Im really hoping, waiting, for a good dense long-term storage medium. It doesn’t have to be fast, but large, cheap, and durable. I want a way to backup my plex library, or even, daily backups of documents and project files, and I don’t want to think about them ever again.

3·2 年前Thanks! I’m kind of hoping to bring more awareness to not only this game but preservation in general. I’m holding an anxiety that we have limited time to potentially save this stuff 😅

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•Fake Pokémon Cartridge Spotted At GameStop Raises Concerns Among Retro GamersEnglish
1·2 年前There’s just no way you could reasonably expect retail employees to verify games. There will need to be an automated system that is more difficult to bypass than it’s worth, and that will likely be more expensive than it’s worth.
We are getting to a point where there are fakes out there that are 100% identical to the real thing, and aren’t all that cheap. It’s an interesting situation.
