It looks cool, and it turns out through a quirk of physics that looking cool makes things fly faster

StellarExtract@lemm.eeto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Does anyone else hate the feeling of velvet?English14·2 months agoIt doesn’t bother me, but my wife absolutely hates the feeling of terry cloth. Apparently that is common for people with ADHD (which she has) and autism. The main area I can relate is microfiber towels. I think those feel terrible. It’s like I can feel the strands catching on each skin cell.
If I hadn’t personally seen this on the internet almost 20 years ago, I would assume it’s AI generated because of how weird it is.

StellarExtract@lemm.eeto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•How do you all feel about AI generated art? (rule)English113·3 months agoI think whatever your stance on the ethics, trying to ban AI as a method of production is futile. Images created using AI are nearing the point of being indistinguishable from images created using other methods. Jokes from last year about how AI can’t get the number of fingers on a hand right already seem outdated. It will soon become impossible to tell the difference between AI and non-AI imagery with any certainty, and we’ve already crossed that threshold for some images. That means a ban is ultimately not going to work. There’s obviously lots of bad quality AI content out there, but there’s also lots of bad quality content out there in general. I think focusing on the quality is more relevant than the method of production.
I’m sure Nedjem’s owner would be infinitely amused that their cat is being discussed 3500 years later

StellarExtract@lemm.eeto RetroGaming@lemmy.world•PC port of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Ship of Harkinian, gets a huge Randomizer upgradeEnglish4·3 months agoNot 100% sure this would work, but what I’d try is to create a new save within the game on the emulator (using the game’s functionality, not a savestate) and shut down the emulator. Then find the resulting save file and replace it with the file from the physical cart, giving it the same file name as the file you’re replacing. The emulator should automatically find that and load it when you start up the game.
