This happened to me and I had to sit through a phone conversation with an AI twice just to get my package delivered to a pickup location hidden inside a Walmart. Once I got there they didn’t even need my ID or anything. Maddening.

I can’t tell if this is copypasta, but if it’s not, you might be a woman. Just saying.
Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the train and when I saw this I had to start furiously masturbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this image. Now there is a whole train of men masturbating together at this one image. This is all your fault, you could have prevented this if you had just tagged this post NSFW.

Factorio@lemmy.world•Do you leave reminders when you have to stop playing?English
4·2 years agoThis is exactly what I’ve been using since 2.0. Right before I close the game, I plop one of these down nearby with text reminding me what I’m gonna do next.
This is something I’ve wanted for a very long time! It’s such a shame that this thread is full of people discussing whether or not a global menu is even a good thing. On Debian I have literally not been able to find a single browser that respects the global menu. I’m going to try everything in this thread, and hope something finally works!
A big reason I use MPV is because of anime. I forget exactly what the reason was back in the day, but I can remember MPV being better at playing certain formats, and fan subs of anime are early adopters of new codecs. In addition, there is a very healthy ecosystem of plugins related to language learning, which again ties back to anime.

politics @lemmy.world•California Lieutenant Governor Calls for Trump to Be Kicked Off Ballot
3·3 years agoWow you’re right, I hate this take lol. That said, I appreciate your honesty and bravery to speak your mind, regardless of what a lot of people might think of it. It’s good to have actual discourse instead of an echo chamber on here.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your favorite regularly updated websites/blogs (that aren’t bloated by social media)?
161·3 years agoI sadly don’t have a list of these anymore, so I’ll be watching this thread for ideas! I’m ready to go back to the way I used to browse the web.
What’s up with those e’s? Is it a foreign language keyboard thing?
The Cup Noodles stir fry line has been my favorite recently. It’s not anything fancy, but I like how you don’t end up with a broth when you’re done with the noodles.

Apple@lemmy.world•Apple's mission to make the Mac safer is slowly destroying it
462·3 years agoI hope no one at Apple takes this opinion seriously. The security of Apple hardware and software is one of its major selling points for me. The MINUSCULE amount of time it takes to click a button allowing permissions is very much worth the security and transparency it provides.

worldnews@lemmy.world•Europe gives Elon Musk 24 hours to respond about Israel-Hamas war misinformation and violence on X, formerly TwitterEnglish
3·3 years agoUnrelated to the news, but I genuinely enjoy that news sites are referring to it as “X, formerly Twitter.” Such a stupid name change.

I honestly had given up hope this would ever happen. For global menu enjoyers, this is the holy grail of programs that just refused to play nice.
