But…but…the fifa peace prize!

I don’t know why you would assume that they would go further on the offensive.
All studies, publications, and reports show that if Israel didn’t have protection from retaliation, that they would be opposed to offensive operations if they experienced even a fraction of the horrors that they commit on others.

Israel always wanted to be in perpetual conflict to continue it’s expansion. Conflict means the need to have superior firepower and defensive capabilities which help continue perpetrating it’s genocide unabated - it’s what Bibi pushed for these many decades.

But if you take away the superior defensive capabilities and the risk of continued aggression (which is why there was opposition to funding the Iron Dome in the US) then Israel would think twice about it’s expansionist policies.

I wouldn’t be so sure
Last week, Israel’s death penalty drive entered its next stage: Lawmakers in the Knesset voted 93-0 to create a special military court to try Palestinians accused of perpetrating the October 7 attacks. As Sari Bashi argued, the new tribunal will be designed to subvert due process rights — and by allowing for confessions extracted through torture, will likely lead to mass executions.
On April 29, the Haifa Magistrate’s Court convicted 31-year-old activist Mohammad Taher Jabareen and 42-year-old attorney Ahmad Khalifa of “indirect incitement to terrorism” and “identification with a terrorist organization,” charges that carry a combined maximum sentence of eight years in prison. The decision came after more than 30 months of legal proceedings — during which Khalifa and Jabareen were held in administrative detention for four and eight months, respectively, before being released to house arrest.
So bringing the death penalty for “terrorists”, then politically run courts to label people as “terrorists”. It’s just genocide with legal backing, and now Israel found another way to genocide the Palestinians with Israeli nationality.

highlighted the impact that shared perceptions of the enemy can have: sections of the left-wing to far-left scene expressed solidarity with a supposed ‘Palestinian liberation struggle’ during protests."
Oh Germany school pamphlets demonizing the left, that’s fun…
Classic German “centrism” delivered condescendingly by a pot-bellied old German man as if it’s enlightenment. “We’ll blame everyone from the left and right under the guise of antisemitism, but not our own policies to supporting a genocide when people are rightfully angry”.

Yeah, of course! And other countries share those same colours on their flag - it’s not about the colours, but knowing about the oppression that’s important; and it’s never too late or wrong to learn and share!

Ah yes, cancelling rights (i.e. turning rights to privileges) and using politically charged litigation against citizens, also subverting their rights, is not a threat to democracy, of course! It’s what democracies are known for! Lol

Not enough, France - sanctions.

As many said, it’s common knowledge if you’ve been generally knowledgeable about the colonialism from the 80s and/or if you’ve been informed because of the current escalation of the genocide.
Israel has had a “military rule” (administratively, judicially, and physically) over a good chunk of Palestinian lands since 1967 (other than what was colonized already). Under military rule law, even the Palestinian flag could put a child in administrative detention (prison with abuse) for an indeterminate amount of time (months to years).
To circumvent the oppressive rule, Palestinians took up the watermelon 🍉 which has the green, black, red, and white of the Palestinian flag.

Sorry, the wording seemed like you were saying, in general as an addendum to the prior comment, that countries shouldn’t engage in the death penalty if they want to be civilized.

Um…Israel voted the death penalty by hanging for anyone they deem a terrorist. Gvir had a big hand in pushing that legislation forward…
They’re not civilized at all…

Basque country is one of the many autonomous regions within Spain - based on Spanish constitution, there are varying degrees of autonomy and basque is one of the most autonomous regions, nearly seeing itself as it’s own country and would probably split off from Spain if their economy wasn’t so dependent on remaining Spanish.

I understand it, I just have a dislike for how the “news” which is supposed to be informative and deliver truth (in an ideal world) needs to tip toe around the whims of a genocidal state while not (rightfully) doing the same for other countries like Russia.

“Allege” - the bruises and videos are there.

If you see Bibi’s statement about it, he only condemns that the actions aren’t in line with “Israel’s values” (which is bullshit), but goes on to say that all of these flotilla members are Hamas operatives and that they should be punished.
So speaking out of both sides of his mouth in the same breath.

What about all the young IOF prison guards that gang up and systemically rape and beat Palestinian prisoners?

When the flag symbol is being branded on civilian’s faces during a genocide, it’s a Nazi symbol and flag.

I also support people’s self determination, I don’t like double standards.
So if he’s okay supporting separatists for one country but not the other, then that’s just unabashed foreign interference while looking the other way at what the US does to us.

That’s generous, what Israel does is wait till the person returns home to their family and then bombs the whole home - the “where’s daddy” protocol
Some things that helped me:
My therapist also says 2 things - 1) if it’s too big of a problem, break it down to manageable things. 2) if it’s too big that you can’t do anything about, then it’s better to focus your attention on things you can change.
Also, the world was always shit, and waaayyy worse. We’re just blasted by how bad it is 24/7.
