Most current light field-ish displays are just doing mirror/prism arrays over pixels, which looks neat at a distance, but don’t have the resolution to trick the eye (see: the external eye screen on the Vision Pro).

Why does it matter so much what the number is on the clock then that you want the clock to be permanently offset instead of accurate? We can have the clock be simple and make sense and let some people adjust once to the number having changed. You’ll be doing the same things at the same solar time anyway, now with a correct clock attached.
