@RareBird15 @mastoblind @main We have training material for PowerPoint if you would like to learn the program in more detail: https://www.nvaccess.org/product/microsoft-powerpoint-with-nvda-ebook/ It should be possible to create a presentation including graphics and speaker notes. Which version of PowerPoint are you using?
@dhamlinmusic @techsinger @main Just specifically on shift+tab, it seems to … be a little flakey - sometimes it does work from anywhere in the reply, but what I did find when I tested it, was that if it doesn’t work, if you press control+home to jump to the top of the message, it does seem to work more reliably. I’m not 100% sure why and it behaved nicely when I tried to test it in order to write up an issue… So do feel free to write up an issue if you can reliably repro it.
@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind Was thinking “I just saw this on RBlind earlier” and was going to reply… and then realised that my reply there is here (at least on your server, I can’t see it here on mine)… and… clearly I still don’t understand how Fediverse works…
@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind Lean on the strengths of each. Your phone is portable so it’s great for reading email on the go (or just in the other room / backyard / wherever)… but not so great for writing… Your computer on the other hand has a keyboard you can write all your replies on without constant swiping or trying to convince Siri to copy what you actually said not what it made up :)
@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind One of the features in NVDA 2025.1 is “Added a general setting to prevent the display turning off during say all or reading with braille.” which should at least fix the display dropping out in some cases while reading long pieces of text - it won’t help if you leave the PC entirely for long enough that it goes to sleep though
@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind is this a new issue for you though? I got the impression this just started happening?

@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind By latest version of NVDA, do you mean 2024.4.2 - or the 2025.1 beta? Also which braille display are you using?
@dhamlinmusic @main @mastoblind I don’t know offhand, but it’s probably worth an email to the author? (I haven’t actually checked, but hopefully their contact details are in there somewhere - they are supposed to be)
