  • I really understand your point, it took me like 2 months to beat radiance because I had to hollow knight fight every time and I get tried relatively quickly and I can’t do much in that scenario. I can imagine why you would quit it, there many accessible experiences out there and that you can always try them out if you want a metroidvania. I personally love these games but I seriously wish things like runbacks weren’t a thing.

  • While yes art is often made for its own sake when certain mechanics enter the question it becomes a bit tricky like for a person who can’t hear well subtitles are a good editions to a movie, you can always turn them off if you want but they are a nice to have for people. Just like that I think there are things where a game can be made accessible to people with dexterity issues and other things which in turn will make it fine for other people who are short on time or just want to explore the game casually because they heard of it. It’s the 95-5 rule where you design something for 95% of the users and 5% of the users so everyone else gets covered in the end (I heard it from ONE youtube video so I don’t know all the nitty gritty so please don’t take my word for it at face value) like even beyond just difficulty settings which often won’t solve many grips like healing items that won’t refill, run back to a boss, etc etc. Many changes proposed by people are often quality of life changes which would make games more enjoyable period. Often while difficulty sliders are thought of as an accessibility option there are many many quality of life changes which just make game more playable for certain kind of players which can’t even be addressed by a slider for difficulty.

  • On top of that it doesn’t even automate jobs well, it only increases work of correcting it’s errors but it gives capitalists more control over lives of people they employee so it is a good deal for them. There’s a reason coal was adopted so fast when water wheel powered textiles were far more efficient. Coal gave capitalists more power.

  • For many people Mamdani seems like October revolution because in all honesty American society is heavily insulated. They’re the empire but they act like they’re the victims of the system on equal footing as Sudanese, Palestinians, and Congolese. American society is a society of settlers and their mind works like this, once I get my treats I will move on to next step, when in truth concessions only happen when bourgeoisie of a society are truly threatened so even for concessions an unconditional solidarity with the most oppressed of the world is required. There’s a difference between how black panthers achieved goals of providing healthcare and food and how a lot of white leftists seek to achieve them, black panthers knew that the system that excludes them will never truly include all of their community so they themselves opened clinics and breakfast programmes for their communities but white leftists try to make the system give them the crumbs in exchange for selling out the most oppressed people.

  • That’s mostly true but you don’t need to forgive the guilty because you’re on a bourgeois platform. Just say accountable or legal or labour rights, there are numerous ways to say action against unfairness without directly saying put a bullet in the head of every open ai and palentir programmer. Personally speaking I seriously don’t like engaging with people because I just end up alienating them because after seeing everything I just can’t bring the emotional capacity to talk to a western liberal argument that’s why I don’t mod places either.
