  • I enjoy the show, but also agree with the pacing issue. The season is nine episodes long, and we spend one of them following a guy driving up the coast for 20 minutes. No mystery, no conflict, just a guy and a slippery rock.

The cinematography is beautiful, but the show lacked any stakes for 80% of the runtime, and didn’t explore the implications of the scenario with nearly enough gusto. I would give it leeway on this by looking at is as a slow-paced character study, but the only character in the show does not feel developed either.

Overall the show is enjoyable, but I did not feel guilty using the skip button to get through the most egregious scenes

  • What a fool you are!

… only one choice is an outline.

How is this difficult, other than if you are line blind?

    The correct choice is A.

If you pick B, A is also red, and C is also a filled solid. So B is not unlike either A or C.

If you pick C, A is also an irregular 4-gon, and B is also filled solid with color. So C is not unlike either A or B.

But if you pick A, while A does have elements in common with B and C…

(it shares ‘red’ with B, and ‘4-gon’ with C)

… it is also unlike each of them singly, as well as both of them together, in that it is a triangle.

A is the only choice where ‘is unlike the other two’… is true, in any sense.

It has a distinct property, not found in any member of the remainder set, nor shared by the remainder set as a group.

  • Because people in countries that have had revolutions were cashed up, gainfully employed, and at peak physical and mental health before they decided to change their country?

I’m not saying these aren’t factors in mobilising the people, but America has crossed line after line; shown time and time again that the ruling class wanted them dead, and yet they sit on their hands because ‘things could be worse’.

  • My favourite part about the price of Office going up is that there is an option to NOT have AI and pay the old price, but they didn’t tell anyone about that, and just jacked up the price.

In Australia they got caught and had to send out an email to give everyone the option to switch back and receive a refund.

In what feels like their last petty act of revenge, that refund was made in seperate ~$5AUD ($3.30USD) payments for every month that they had lied to their customers. Like a disgruntled guy paying his parking ticket in pennies. I received a dozen identical miniscule payments in one day, and could feel the unsaid “fuck you” from MS. The sentiment is mutual.

  • I think you have a very optimistic view of the US if you think the people that don’t care if one group of non-white citizens are deported is suddenly going to be shocked and appalled when a different group of non-white citizens is on the chopping block.

I sincerely hope that it never comes to that, but thinking that your deportation is going to be the straw to break the camels back is a little arrogant.

  • When my wife and I were planning a family, we were sent to a fertility specialist at a hospital named after some saint or another. We asked all the questions we could and got lots of good advice. Then we innocently asked: what if the pregnancy is not viable? If there is a risk to my wife’s life, or we become aware that the baby would be born with a life-limiting issue?

The doctor got all clammed up and said we would have to seek advice from another hospital if that wound up being the case.

If my wife were at risk of death, or if our child would be born with their organs on the outside and half a brain with a life expectancy of a week, these self-righteous assholes would tell us to go elsewhere.

We did not return to that specialist. For all their preaching, they do not care about the lives of their patients and it shocks me that they can just decide that you don’t get to have healthcare because they think it’s a sin.
